Ivan Ureta PhD

Adjunct Professor

Ivan holds a Ph.D. in Economic History (Deusto) and a Ph.D. in International Relations (King’s College London). Ivan has worked as an Associate Professor at Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), where he was a founding faculty member of the Department of Political Science. As a practitioner, he has collaborated with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Spanish (AECI), Peruvian (APCI), and Swiss (DSC) Agencies of Development and Cooperation, and the Permanent Mission of Spain to the UN in Geneva. He has published extensively on international migration, security, international political economy, socio-economic development, security, and public discourse. Ivan Ureta is also a professor at IE University/Business School and at the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland, and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, King’s College London.

Flavio Gazzani PhD

Adjunct Professor

Prof Flavio Gazzani is an economist with a special focus on renewable energy, environmental protection, and climate change policy with an aim toward achieving sustainable development. Prof Gazzani received his Ph.D. in Environmental Economics (Murdoch University, Western Australia 2009) and worked as a researcher in environmental management and energy economics at Murdoch University. He has 20 years of academic and consultant experiences as working in environmental and sustainable energy management, both in Australia and Europe, particularly in the following areas: sustainable energy policy and programs, including energy efficiency, demand‑side management, environmental fiscal reform, and applied econometric analysis, renewable energy and abatement of greenhouse gas emissions, government energy policy and planning across all energy forms, water management, and governance.

His research areas are related to econometric models applied to climate change evaluation using Dynamic Integrated Climate Change Model (DICE), Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model for policy analysis and forecasting, estimating energy efficiency using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA), and discrete choice modeling for water and energy demand behavior. During his working experience in Australia, he has developed extensive knowledge of carbon taxation, assessing their greenhouse gas emissions reduction and fiscal impact of a carbon tax on the primary energy sector.

He has served as an expert advisor and consultant on European Commission Energy Roadmap 2050, Government of Western Australia on sustainable water management and market-based instruments to manage chemical fertilizers, United Nation Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in assessing the economic impact of climate change in Mediterranean region and advisor on environmental fiscal reform for the Italian Government. He was also employed as a senior researcher at the Stockholm Environmental Institute in Estonia, a senior researcher at the University of Rome “Sapienza” in Italy as project team leader on several macroeconomic model development and fiscal reform for government agencies.

Kyriakos Kouveliotis PhD

Professor

Professor Kyriakos Kouveliotis is currently the Rector and Director of Academic Affairs and President of the educational organization Atheneum Liberal Studies and Professor at Uninettuno University.

He has a PhD in European Integration and International Relations completed at the Department of Politics, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He also holds an MA in Diplomacy awarded by Lancaster University UK, a certificate in Linguistics awarded by Bangor University UK and a BA in English Literature and Linguistics awarded by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece. He has also completed two cycles of Post -Doctorate research one on Decision and Policy -Making and one on Conflict Resolution and Crisis Management.

Professor Kouveliotis has worked in various research groups, he is an accomplished researcher in a variety of disciplines, and in the last 20 years, he has taught in many universities and educational organizations globally. He is an expert in developing new curricula, programs, and syllabi.

Professor Kouveliotis has published 12 books and dozens of original scientific articles. His track record of academic publishing is composed of a variety of papers concerning political, economic and educational issues.

He has also served as a Scientific Advisor to the Minister of Defence, to the Deputy Minister of Development and Competitiveness and to the General Secretariat of Communication and Mass Media of the Greek Government. He has recently been appointed by the Minister of Education as a Member in the Governing Committee of the Hellenic Open University.

Kanika Gupta PhD

Professor

Prof. Kanika Gupta has more than 14 years of experience in academia and the corporate industry. In academia, she has been teaching Accounting and Finance core courses and has been an academic administrator with experience in every stage of students’ life cycle. At present, she is leading triple-accredited (AACSB, AMBA, EFMD) Open University, UK validated programs, and is a Dean and Programme Director – MBA. She has led the world’s best-regulated business programs, implementing best practices in academic governance, drafting and executing policies & regulations in compliance with QAA. She has experience in assessments design using reflective writing, drafting,  student, and faculty rubric to bring objectivity in subjective assessments. In her leadership roles, she has defended examination and other boards. Her other associations are with EU Business School, Spain 11th QS Ranking; EBU, Luxemburg; Rushford Business School, Switzerland and Amity University, India where she acted as a lecturer and E-Learning Quality Control Specialist. The unique blend of teaching where she understands andragogy and students’ psychology and administration where she balances implementing policies in regular and online teaching mode along with global exposure has empowered her to contribute to the meaningful restructuring and upgrading of Universities.

Prof. Gupta holds a PhD in Management/ Finance from Banasthali University, India, and a Masters of Commerce from Kurukshetra University, India. She has also completed a 1-year Certificate of Teaching in Higher Education, Oxford Brookes University, UK

Anuj Batta MBA MCA

Adjunct Professor

Anuj Batta has over five years of experience in academia and close to two decades of experience in the corporate industry in leadership and consulting roles in research, management, marketing, strategy, business analytics, and data science, across multiple industry domains and geographies. He has helped multiple universities and b-schools in setting up and operationalizing an effective and meaningful degree or certificate program in business analytics and data science. His corporate experience has been with companies like Adobe, Sapient, and HCL Technologies where he headed the data science practices. His academic experience has been with top-rated business schools and universities. He also delivers managers’ development programs in companies such as Accenture,  RBL bank, and many more. He holds double post-graduation and is an Indian Institute of Management, IIM-Calcutta alumnus.

Jason Palframan PhD

Professor

Jason is a chartered psychologist with a PhD in transpersonal and organisational psychology. He currently lectures in HRM and Social psychology at Athlone Institute of Technology and has previously worked in universities both in the UK and Ireland. He is a chartered member of both the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). In 2014, he was awarded his PhD for conducting research with great place to work (GPTW) organisations in Europe and how they foster workplace spirituality.

His research interests include employee engagement, the impact of HRM on spiritual wellbeing, workplace spirituality and person-organisation fit theory. He also has interests in constructivist psychology and qualitative methodologies such as interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA).

Jason was awarded his PhD in Psychology from Liverpool John Moores University for research with a great place to work (GPTW) organisations in Europe and how they foster spirituality at work. His book titled ‘spirituality at work’ was published in 2017. Jason also holds an MBA from the University of Hull and both an MSc in Psychology (Liverpool John Moores University) and HRM (Open University).

Jason’s skill set includes Employee engagement, Strategic HRM, mindfulness at work, neurofeedback for leaders, stress management, coaching, spirituality in the workplace, NLP at work, and Psychometrics (Level A & B).

Bradley Joblin PhD

Professor

Dr. Joblin has a doctorate from the University of Zurich. Having held senior management and scientific leadership roles in clinical research at the headquarters of global pharmaceutical companies and smaller biotech companies, his experience is in clinical study implementation, early and late phase clinical study design and clinical development strategy. Bradley founded his own consulting company providing clinical study and development advice to the clinical research community including biotech companies and medical research institutes. Dr. Joblin provides faculty support for Business Programs with a focus on pharmaceuticals and clinical research sciences.

Tony Beaven MPhil MA MSc

Professor

Anthony is an experienced university lecturer and business practitioner. Having served in middle management roles for organizations in many diverse industries, Anthony has a particular interest in HRM and Project Management. Before becoming an academic, he was involved in the restructuring of several companies prior to their sale and flotation. Anthony is an expert in TQM and has led teams in diverse manufacturing companies from heavy industry to pharmaceuticals.

Tony has MPhil and MA in Education, MA in Human Resource Development with Distinction, and an MSc in Manager and Organisational Development with Commendation.

Vincent English PhD

Professor

Vincent is a Professor of International Business and Strategic Management at the Uninettuno University of Rome and is also a visiting professor at two other business schools in Naples and Geneva. Vincent holds a PhD in business strategy and numerous other degrees in Law, Education, Physics, and Data Analytics from the University of Cambridge, Kings College London, Maynooth, Aberdeen, and Dublin. Vincent is also attached to the University of Cambridge as a researcher into adult online learning and is a member of their prestigious CEDiR group. Vincent was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2016. Vincent is currently supervising 4 Doctoral (DBA) students at Uninettuno University.

Vincent is also currently CEO of Vernier Europe, a subsidiary of Vernier Software and Technology, the world’s largest manufacturer of digital data collection technologies for schools. He has extensive experience in international business in many different sectors, including educational materials and equipment, retail, and engineering. Vincent has founded several successful companies and has served as Managing Director of companies in Ireland and the UK for the past 25 years. Vincent has worked at all levels in firms in the SME sector and has extensive experience in marketing, project management, mentoring, international distributor, and sourcing of products.

Vincent currently serves on an influential European Commission ThinkTank for STEM learning across Europe. He has also successfully served on several prominent EU large scale projects charged with increasing inclusion in science education at secondary schools.

Vincent has a passion for continued professional development and bringing learning to as wide a community as possible. He is a sponsor of the Young Scientist of Tanzania competition and was a regular judge at the annual event for several years. He is also an active contributor to the European Commission’s classroom of the future (FutureLab).

Member of the CEDiR Research Group at the University of Cambridge. Doctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge undergoing a Doctor of Education.  Vincent was voted the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2020 in Longford, Ireland.

Flomny Menon MBA DBA FCMI, FRSA

Professor

Flomny is a Professor in Holistic Business Leadership at Uninettuno University and a visiting professor at Bolton university and other Business colleges in London. Flomny holds an MBA from Cardiff University, Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Wales, and numerous other degrees and diplomas in Leadership, Hospitality, and Wellness sectors from Michigan State University, Harvard, MIT, and University of Pennsylvania. She sees possibilities in every business model and has been known to launch, execute, and deliver over a hundred partnerships in a span of twenty years. She is sector agnostic and is known to convert even the most impossible business propositions into inevitable success stories. She was responsible for shaping award-winning brands globally and has worked with ambitious brands like Chelsea Football Club, Six Senses, and Jumeirah Hospitality. Flomny is also an active member of inspiring the future UK, Royal Society of Arts and Chartered Management Institute.

Helen Brophy

Professor

Helen is Director of Smurfit Executive Development at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. She holds direct responsibility for the management and strategic development of Smurfit Executive Development and is a member of the Smurfit School’s Irish Advisory Board and the School’s Senior Management Team and Executive Committee.

Prior to joining UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Helen spent almost 20 years working in international business roles within the private and public sector (CEO, National Dairy Council; Head of Consumer Foods, Aurivo; Head of Market and Business Development, BIM; Director, Nolan’s Seafoods.

While Helen leads the Smurfit Executive Development team, she also specializes in program design and delivers across the program portfolio in areas of leadership, change management, and organization effectiveness.  She holds an Executive Masters in Consulting and Coaching for Change from INSEAD in addition to an MBS from UCD Smurfit School and a BA in Communication Studies from Dublin City University.  Helen is certified by the British Psychological Society for Level A Occupational Ability and Level B Personality Psychometric Test User Certification and is qualified in a range of psychometric and 360 instruments.  She has also continued her professional development throughout her career, undertaking programs at leading ranked international Business Schools including Harvard (US), Center for Creative Leadership (US), and IESE (Spain).

Vinay Menon PhD

Professor

Vinay is a world authority and leader in Wellness techniques using ANGATHA YOGA. Vinay’s experience has evolved through various developmental stages in 20 years to form a new and innovative ARFA STRATEGY “Mind reprogramming strategy.”  His unique approach integrates theoretical concepts and practical ideas and then apply them in actual classroom situations.

ARFA STRATEGY provides a dynamic and practical approach to recovery training, whether it is in sports or business. Vinay has conducted programs for the past 20 years all around the world and counts some of the world’s most prominent sportspeople and industry leaders.

Professor Menon is much sought after for consultation, as a motivational speaker, in stress management and Management, for his proficiency in mind reprogramming.

Professor Menon is a research member of the Longford College’s Institute of Wellness and Recovery and Professor of Advanced Wellness and Recovery Innovations.

Vinay has a B.Sc Sports Science in sports and health education, M.Sc in Physical Education, Health Education, and Sports Science. M.Phil in Master of Philosophy in Physical Education, PgDiploma in  Yoga Science, Masters of Reiki: Holistic Healing, and Ph.D. in Peak Performance and Recovery

Michele O’Brien

Professor

Michele is the CEO of the Irish Osteoporosis Society, which is the National Charity and only organization in the ROI that deals specifically with Osteoporosis. The Charity assists those at risk of developing this disease, those who have been fortunate to be diagnosed, and health professionals treating these patients.

Michele has worked for the Charity for 19 years and prior to working for the Charity, she set up the first Fall prevention service for senior citizens in the ROI. Michele lived in the USA for 14 years and she worked in Occupational health and rehabilitation centers in the area of Physical Therapy. Since returning to Ireland, she has been educating the public and health professionals regarding bone health and fall prevention. She completed the Smurfit Executive (UCD) development Senior Leadership Programme in 2019, which was in collaboration with Darden Executive Education, in Virginia.

Moira O’Brien FRCPI, FFSEM, FFSEM (Hon UK), FTCD, FECSS, MA

Professor

Prof Moira O’Brien FRCPI, FFSEM, FFSEM (Hon UK), FTCD, FECSS, MA, Emeritus Professor of Anatomy, Trinity College Dublin is currently an Osteoporosis and Sports Medicine Consultant at Affidea Dundrum, Past Member of the Board of the Federation International Medicine Sportive (FIMS), Founder and President of the Irish Osteoporosis Society and, Member of the European Union Osteoporosis Interest Group on Osteoporosis. She has been involved in Sports Medicine for over 40 years. A founding Fellow of RCPI/RCSI Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine, she was the Medical Officer to the Irish Olympic team at the Moscow, Los Angeles, and the Seoul Olympic games. She was the Medical Director of the first Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine in Great Britain and Ireland based at Trinity College, Dublin from 1990 to 2005, and since then an Honorary Medical Director. She is an author of numerous publications, books, and articles on osteoporosis and sports Medicine and an invited keynote speaker at international conferences worldwide. Prof O’Brien was awarded the Sir Roger Bannister Medal by BASEM in 2015 and the Faculty Medal by FSEM in 2016, to recognize her outstanding contribution to the field of Sports and Exercise Medicine. Professor O’Brien is considered to be one of the world’s leading practitioners in sports medicine.

Ruth Forrest PhD

Professor

Dr Ruth Forrest is an educationalist from Ireland. As well as having a PhD from Dublin City University, she also holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from the Open University, UK, a BSc (Hons) in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Middlesex University, UK, and a Diploma in Social Studies from the IFAE (The Hague). Ruth is a former lecturer at Maynooth University, Ireland. Her area of specialism was as Co-ordinator of Research on the Bachelor of Education program. She is particularly interested in MOOCs and has completed ten courses online, in subjects ranging from Psychology to Peri-operative Medicine. Ruth is currently engaged in research on the role of exercise in the treatment of neurological disorders, particularly Parkinson’s Disease

Adrian Lamb

High-Performance Fitness Coach with 20 years’ experience training athletes at an elite level, including 16 years in professional football in the UK and the USA. Worked at a number of levels of the professional game, including 4 English Premier League clubs and 2 Major League Soccer teams, as well as the English Championship and League 1. Possess a proven track record of enhancing performance in world-class sporting environments inclusive of strength and conditioning, physical outputs, recovery, nutrition, individualized fitness programming, injury prevention, and youth football. Adrian is currently the head fitness coach at the Chinese Football Association. Adrian is a graduate of Northumbria University.  Adrian is regarded as one of the foremost leading strength and conditioning coaches in world football. He has coached some of the biggest names on the world stage and worked with many iconic football coaches in managers in his career. Adrian is renowned for his innovative and groundbreaking approaches to advanced sports performance in football and many other sports.

Marc Cashin PhD MBA

Marc has worked in a number of high profile, blue-chip, multi-national organisations with over 25 years of experience in technical, managerial and senior leadership roles. He has in-depth experience in Finance, Technical Development, Programme & Project Management, Business Development and Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. He has considerable experience in Strategic Knowledge Management and Learning & Development supporting organisational change and growth through the continuous professional development of senior managers/leaders in both Multi-national and SME companies.

Professor Cashin’s fields of interests are in knowledge management and organisational development, action learning, entrepreneurship, technology management, lean and agile development processes in Start-ups and NPI. Entrepreneurial education. Specific interests in Strategic Knowledge Management and Competitive Advantage, Change of Management Impact on Talent and Knowledge Management, Action / Work-Based Learning, and The Role of Higher Education Institutes is supporting Continuous/Life Long Learning,

Professor Cashin has received his Doctorate in Knowledge Management (2009) from Middlesex University and MBA from Oxford-Brookes University.
