Q&A:

As someone who has always been fascinated by the intersection of psychology and economics, I am excited about the opportunity to deepen my understanding of behavioral finance. I believe that by analyzing the impact of cognitive biases on both corporate decision-making and consumer behavior, develop more effective strategies for negotiating complex deals, managing financial risks, and analyzing business data.

“I recognize some pitfalls and constantly strive for improvement. I used to be overly analytical which sometimes falls short where logic doesn’t rule. Often, I end up not feeling satisfied with the final outcome. This may be a result of my recommendation being overruled by management for strategic political reasons, as in the case of a commercial negotiation where I felt we left a lot of value on the table. Subsequently, I work on this weakness by strategically incorporating these salient factors in my analysis and also getting the buy-in of other stakeholders.
My intentional living and mindfulness practice, which I adopted during my MBA coaching session have aided my new approach to life and events.
I see life as a big chessboard, which requires constant assessment of new tactics, strategies, and contingency plans to maneuver and maintain control. I am in better control of my responses to life events. This has helped my well-being.”

I am most passionate about humanity, developing people, and helping them unlock their true potential. I am also passionate about Business Strategic positioning for sustainable Competitive Advantage. I combine these two interests in my everyday interactions in and out of the office.

“As an energy expert, a mindfulness practioner and a life coach, I plan to deploy my skills in advising businesses in the ethical energy sector (cleantech, sustainable energy etc.) either in the capacity of a non-executive director or advisory board member.

I will also advance my other initiatives in these areas:
– e-mentorship with the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 2009
– talent management for business continuity by setting a framework for mentoring and coaching young professionals to bridge the knowledge gap.
– Wellness and intentional living coaching.”
