Steps & Other Requirements
Choose a program
Your academic journey at Rushford begins with choosing a program that is right for you. Please carefully review the list of programs available at this campus. Our student advisors can help and guide you further to ensure that you have made the right choice.
Check your eligibility & English language requirements

Undergraduate:

For admission into undergraduate programs you should have successfully completed (with a minumum overall score of 55%) your upper secondary education (post-16) that gives access to universities in your home country. Overseas high school qualifications, tertiary studies that include studies in a bachelor’s degree, completed diplomas or advanced diplomas and preparation programs can all be accepted.

Postgraduate:

For admission into most postgraduate programs, you are required to hold at minimum a recognised bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall score of 55% (GPA 2.0 on a 4.0 point scale) or higher.

In some instances, you may also require relevant work experience and/or research experience. If applicable, you may demonstrate this through submission of a CV, portfolio, and/or a personal statement.

English Language Requirements:

Our programs are conducted in English language. As such, you must demonstrate proficiency in English language by submitting one of the acceptable test scores during the application process.

Review your finances

Before applying, you should understand the fees you will need to pay. The fees applicable for our programs for each academic year are updated on the course specific webpages of this website.

Put together your documents

During the application process you will be expected to submit a copy of several documents. At a minimum the following documents will be required:
– Passport
– Degree / Diploma
– Academic Transcripts / Marks Sheets
– English Proficiency Certificate (Test results)
– Curriculum Vitae
– Passport size photographs
– 2 letters of recommendation.

Submit your application & pay application fee

Once all your documents are available, kindly proceed with your online application via the Apply Now option available on this website.

The application processing fee is Swiss Francs (CHF) 150. This fee is refunded only for successful applicants who accept the offer of admission.

Personal interview
Once your application fee is received, your application will be processed further and a personal interview will be scheduled online.
This will help us to know you better and also offer you an opportunity to ask any questions.
Receive a conditional offer letter & pay deposit amount

If all your submitted documents are in order, and the personal interview report is favourable, a conditional offer letter will be issued.
If you decide to accept the offer of admission, you must proceed with a payment of the fee deposit (CHF 3000).
At this stage you must also get all your previously submitted documents apostiled for submission to the school in the next steps.

Issuance of final acceptance letter
A final acceptance letter is issued upon acceptance of your conditional offer and fee submission as per the terms of the conditional offer. This final acceptance letter can then be used to proceed with the visa application process.
Student visa application at the Swiss consulate

At this stage you can contact your local Swiss consulate and seek an appointment for the visa application. Since visa application requirements vary by applicant nationality and country where application is being made, you must obtain all the relevant information applicable to you from your local Swiss consulate. At this stage, the consulate can request for additional documents in support of your application such as:

– Sponsor’s proof of finances such as bank statements
– Sponsor’s income tax filings for last 3 or more years
– Sponsor’s Identification documents etc.

Rushford will guide and provide reasonable assistance throughout your visa application process.

Payment of school fees and visa stamping

Within about 4 to 8 weeks of visa application, you will be notified by Rushford about the approval of your visa. You must then proceed with the payment of the 1st year fee in full (minus the deposit and application fee).
Once this amount is paid, Rushford will issue a fee payment receipt. You must then take the receipt and your passport to the consulate where you applied for the visa to get your visa stamped.

In an unlikely event of visa rejection, Rushford will refund the deposit amount paid with some minor administrative deductions.

Pre arrival session

Before you depart, a pre-arrival training session will be conducted to help make your travel and arrival as smooth as possible.

Most students from outside of the EU need a visa to enter Switzerland. You can only enter Switzerland for studies with a student visa. If you need a visa, you must apply for one as part of your application to Rushford. Without a visa, you will not be able to enter the country to start your studies.

If you are unsure whether you need a visa to enter Switzerland, please contact us, your local Rushford representative, or the Swiss Embassy in your area.

The process of applying for and getting a visa can take up to 12 weeks, so you should factor this into your decision about which term you want to begin your studies.

The Rushford Admissions Office and/or your local Rushford representative will help you through this process and provide you with any necessary documents that you may require from our side.

More information about the visa application and stamping process is provided in the Detailed Steps section of this page.

Fees for all our programs are listed on their respective program page. Please check the program page for which you wish to apply.

In addition there is an application fee of CHF 150 to be paid after you have submitted your application. Your application process will not proceed further until the application fee has been paid.

Further to the application fee, you may incur other expenses such as for the translation of your documents if they are not in English, and document apostille.
