Q&A:

I am an experienced healthcare manager and have my master’s degree in International Health Policy and Management. I used to lead a big international non-for-profit organization in my country and now I am in a stage of my career, where I need to learn more about healthcare leadership and management in order to move to the next level of working at the regional or international level. Therefore, I thought, this would be a very good possibility for me to be enrolled in the Doctor of Business Administration in Health Care Management Program and to get more knowledge in Health Care Management and Leadership in order to move further in my professional ladder and to work in international level as a leader in the healthcare field.

“My life is like a path with its ups and downs. When I graduated from medical university and started working as a medical doctor the Soviet Union broke down and a bloody civil war started in my country. I faced many challenges of working as a professional without proper compensation and properly updated information and facing isolation from the rest of the world. The only way of dealing with these challenges was to rely on yourself and build your capacity. I received my MSc in International Health Policy and Management from Brandeis University in USA and started to collaborate with USA research partners in conducting research on global health issues. My slogan was to work hard and overcome any challenges faced in order to accomplish my goal.
I also led a big health organization for seven years and achieved most of the targets set by the organization. I have the motivation to move further, to learn more, and to provide services to people. Knowledge is power and I am confident that learning is the key in order to become stronger.”

I am passionate about serving my community, and about being helpful to society. I served my community as a medical doctor and moved to the public health field and health management. I established a Private non for profit clinic while being CEO of Aga Khan Health Service. I also established a Global Health Research Center PRISMA while working in the public health area. Currently, I am enrolled in DBA and also taking a Global Mindset Program. My aim is to be a global health expert and to serve communities and society at large.

I am planning to receive my Doctor of Business Administration in Health Care and get my Diploma in Global Mindset and would use the knowledge and skills in combination with my skills, knowledge, and experience gained during my professional work in the healthcare system in order to serve as a global health expert and improve health care management in my country, regionally or to work in the international level. I have unique experience working in the healthcare field in developing countries, have achievements in establishing private clinics and public entities and being involved in health reform programs, which are all very invaluable resources. And in combination with the knowledge and skills gained through this program, I will become more powerful and can become an expert in the field of Health, which gives me the opportunity to serve my community and to use my knowledge and experience for the betterment of the society at large.
